SEA-ME-WE 5 is now operational and is designed with the latest upgradable 100-Gbps Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology enabling system capacity of 24 Terabits per second. The cable system spans 20,000 km connecting multiple PoPs from Marseille to Singapore. SEA-ME-WE 5 also offers cross-connections possibilities with other submarine cables in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti and Sri Lanka. The cable system cross-connects with the BringCom MPLS PoP at the Djibouti Teleport facility in the Republic of Djibouti. The acquisition of capacity reflects BringCom’s strategy to grow and expand its pan-African MPLS network and international global connectivity services. BringCom’s Djibouti Teleport continues to serve as its pan-African gateway where it has access to multiple submarine cables linking customers in Africa to Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
